The Determinants Of Economic Diversification In Algeria: An Empirical Approach

Abstract
The aim of this article is to identify the main determinants of export diversification in Algeria. To achieve this objective, we regress the export diversification indicator, measured succevely by the Herfindhal-Hirchman index, on a set explanatory variables. The results show that trade openness, competitive real exchange rate, credit provided to the private sector and gross fixed capital formation are the main determinants of export diversification in Algeria.
