The Effect Of Context And Expected Consequences Of Quality Assurance In Algerian Higher Education Public Institutions

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to analyze the intention drivers to participate in the implementation of Quality Assurance (QA) as a change in Higher Education Institution (HEI) in Algeria. 48 interviews have been conducted at four HEI with different stakeholders. Following the interviews, a national survey has been conducted with 166 students and 206 lecturers. The mains findings reveal that The number of institutional dysfunctions can be a hindrance factor to contribute in the implementation of the change and beliefs about four expected outcomes of QA explain the intention to participate in the change.
