The Constantinian Women During The Ottoman Era

Authors : Sahraoui Fatiha .

Abstract

Abstract: Given that women's issues are rarely discussed in the present period, the study attempts to shed light on the situation of women in Algeria, specifically the women of Constantine in the Ottoman era. Because women are prone to dualism, it is challenging to discuss them in isolation from men. Since women were involved in society, sometimes her responsibilities went beyond the house chores and children. The researcher encounters a lack of historical data despite the topic's significance. Writings on the past often neglect to adequately examine women due to strict prohibition and extreme conservatism. As a result, the researcher committed efforts to the women of Algeria, namely those of Baylek Al-Sharq (Constantine).
