Scrutinizing Efl Teachers’ Attitudes Towards The Use Of The Discord Application In Reducing Students’ Public Speaking Anxiety. Case Of Teachers Of English Language At Mohamed Lamine Debaghine, Setif2 University

Abstract

The study aims at exploring teachers’ attitudes towards the use of Discord application in reducing students’ public speaking anxiety. It adopts an exploratory research design with a mixed method approach which aims at having an in-depth comprehension of the research topic in an accurate way to answer the research main questions. An interview was held with Eight EFL teachers of Setif 2 University to collect the necessary data. The data were analyzed through a thematic analysis (for analyzing the content of the interviews). The findings revealed that teachers have positive attitudes towards the use of the Discord app in reducing public speaking anxiety. In addition, teachers recommend learners to practice speaking as a main strategy to follow in order to reduce public speaking anxiety.
