The present article is focused on the determinants of export intensity in new venture with early and rapid internationalization in Algeria. We distinguish between entrepreneur and firm factors and hypothesized that high level of export is associated with entrepreneurial skills, social capital, innovation and novelty of technology. Those hypotheses are tested within ordinal regression model based on qualitative data from the GEM surveys of 2011, 2012 and 2013. The results show that new ventures with a high export level are different from those that remain attached to their local market or that are weakly internationalized. Entrepreneurs with experience in the business world, integrated into peer networks and offering products considered new in the market are the most dynamic in the international market. The results of this research are consistent with the conclusions of some research and not consistent with others. The novelty of this work lies in the specific context of the empirical analysis.
