الملخص
يعتبر المسرح وسيلة من وسائل الاتصال والإعلام والتوعية ولو بأسلوب درامي، بحيث لعب المسرح الجزائري إبان الفترة الاستعمارية دورا هاما في توعية وشحذ الهمم لدى الجزائريين لمقاومة المحتل الفرنسي. وتعتبر مسرحية "يوغرطة" لعبد الرحمان ماضوي مثالا على ذلك؛ فمن خلال هذه المسرحية تم تجسيد الزعيم البربري "يوغرطة" كشخصية وطنية تمثل رمز المقاومة والتحدي ضد الهيمنة الرومانية في الفترة الممتدة ما بين 112ق.م – 105ق.م، وهذه المسرحية تعيد إلى أذهان الجزائريين- آنذاك- أمجاد أجدادهم الذين ضرب بهم المثل في المقاومة عبر العصور. Throughout history the theatre has been considered as a means of communication, information, and awareness, even in a dramatic sense, During the colonial period, the Algerian theater played an important role in raising awareness and galvanizing Algerians to resist the French occupier which is illustrated by The "Jugurtha play by Abd al Rahman Madwi" is an example of this. Through this play, the Berber leader "Jugurtha" was embodied as a national figure representing a symbol of resistance and defiance against Roman domination in the period from 112BC to 105BC. Besides, this play served as reminder to the Algerians- at that time- the glories of their ancestors who had set an example of in resistance through the ages.
