الملخص
تتناول هذه الدراسة الاستراتيجية العسكرية التي اعتمدها الملك يوغرطة من أجل مقاومة الرومان في شمال افريقيا، حيث عمل على اعداد جيش قوي معظمهم من النوميد كما جند في صفوفه فرقا عسكرية من المور والجيتول وحتى المرتزقة، وقسم جيشه الى قوات احتياطية وأخرى نظامية تتألف من فرسان ومشاة مجهز بمختلف الاسلحة الدفاعية منها والهجومية، كما لم يدخر جهدا في توفير كل ما يحتاجه من مؤونة وذلك من خلال جباية المحاصيل من الاراضي الملكية ومن سكان المدن والقرى الخاضعة وتخزينها بعيدا عن أعين العدو. اما عن الجانب التكتيكي في حملاته العسكرية فقد اعتمد فيه على الجوسسة والاستطلاع من أجل معرفة تحركات العدو، والحيلة والخديعة، واطلاق الاشاعة في صفوف العدو لزعزعة معنوياته، واختيار توقيت وميدان القتال واستدراج العدو اليه، فضلا عن اتباع أسلوب حرب العصابات، وسياسة التحالفات، والرفع من معنويات جنوده، والحرص على متابعة سير العمليات من بدايتها الى نهايتها. This study addresses the military strategy adopted by King Jugurtha to resist the Romans in North Africa, where he worked to prepare a powerful army, most of them numidians, and also recruited military teams from moors, Gétules, and even mercenaries. He divided his army into standby and regular forces consisting of cavalry and infantry equipped with various defensive and offensive weapons. He also spared no effort in providing all the supplies he needed by collecting crops from royal lands and from the inhabitants of the cities and villages under control and storing them away from the eyes of the enemy. On the tactical side of his military campaigns, he relied on espionage and reconnaissance to know the enemy’s movements, ploys, and deceit, unleashing rumor among the enemy to disturb its spirits, choosing the timing and field of fighting and luring the enemy into it, as well as pursuing guerrilla warfare, alliances policy, lifting the morale of his soldiers, and keeping track of operations from the beginning to the end.
