Abstract
In this realistic cognitive approach, we tried to shed light on the issue of youth and citizenship in the light of social variables by developing a general perception that looks at the university student's attitudes towards citizenship and its practices in social and political life. The societal context in which it appeared, in order to determine the pattern of prevailing social thinking on the issue of citizenship and the role it plays in directing behaviors and determining .the forms of perceptions and practices of the university student at the Algerian university
