Towards The Application Of Governance Principles In Sports Institutions

Authors : Elaguab Khalil .

Abstract

The term "governance" has become more well-known in international institutions, as the term has spread in the fields of economic, social, sports and public policy development, and despite two decades of circulation, many questions have been raised about its meaning and the possibility of accepting it at the global level or the existence of differences in interpretation and application. "Sports institutions" have also emerged as strong formal structures, as these institutions work to ensure the support and management of sports activities and their development and the arrangement of laws, rules and regulations related to sports. Recent studies indicate the need for effective governance systems to prevent collusion between auditors and those who have interests in the institution as board members and managers, which means a good governance system based on intervention and control by shareholders and general assemblies over boards of directors and executive bodies to reduce financial and administrative corruption within this institution. Our study comes here to shed light on the theoretical and conceptual framework of what governance is, and to present the contents of sports institutions and organizations in language, terminology, and governance. The study will also focus on the importance of adopting the principles of governance in Sports institutions.
