تّسمية "موريطانيا" من خلال المصادر القديمة

الملخص
ملخص: تهدف هذه الدراسة للتعرُّف على المصادر التّي تناولت تّسمية موريطانيا، والسياق التاريخي الذّي ذكرتها فيه، لنصل إلى الكشف عن بعض خفايا مملكة موريطانيا، التّي لم تحظ بالاهتمام الكاف من قِبَل الدراسات الأكاديمية مقارنة بالاهتمام الذّي أولته لمملكة نوميديا. كما تصبو الدراسة للإحاطة بأصل ومصدر اشتقاق التسمية، وبالتالي المعنى الذّي تحمله، والذّي دار حوله جدال بين المؤرّخين. وخلصت الدراسة إلى أنّ سكّان موريطانيا عُرفوا بتّسميات متعدّدة، أشهرها المور، التّي ظلّت تتداول إلى غاية نهاية العصر القديم، أمّا بالنسبة لكيان المملكة فكانت هناك تّسمية واحدة وهي موريطانيا، لكن الإغريق كانوا يكتبونها موروزيا. كما توصّلت الدراسة إلى أنّ أصل التّسمية محلّي، عُرفت بها موريطانيا وشعبها قبل القرن الخامس ق.م. Abstract: This study aims to present the sources that addressed the appellation of Mauretania, and historical context in which it was mentioned, in order to reveal some of the hidden aspects of the Kingdom of Mauretania, that have been overlooked by the academic studies compared to the attention given to the Kingdom of Numidia. The study also aims to determine the origin and derivation of this appellation, around which historians have debated. The study concluded that the inhabitants of Mauretania were known by multiple names, the most famous of which was "Moors," which persited in usage until the end of the Antiquity. As for the entity of the kingdom, there was only one name, which was Mauretania, but the Greeks used to write it Maurusia. The study prouved that the origin of the name is local, and it was attributed to both the country of Mauretania and its inhabitants, most likely before the 5th century BC.
