The relationship between sustainable development and international trade is still subject to many debates. We try from this article to analyze the measures undertaken by the World Trade Organization to promote sustainable development through its rules and objectives during the period (1995-2021). Thus, the quantitative data on these measures are collected through several databases allowing an estimation of their contribution to the achievement of the objectives of sustainable development through certain indicators. The results showed that this organization acts through measures adapted to its principles; reduction of export subsidies, special and differential treatment, trade aids, preferential rules of origin, trade openness. The latter, having a positive effect on the indicators representative of the targeted sustainable development objectives; eradicate hunger, diversify the economy to achieve growth and decent work, equality between developed and developing countries and establish partnerships.
