The cognitive neuropsychological approach is based on the idea that the semiotics of disturbances in aphasia may be a clear clinical manifestation of various fundamental deficiencies within the cognitive structure of language. The cognitive neuropsychological model proposed by Caramazza and Hillis (1991) describes language and single-word processing. It aims to explain speech production difficulties (naming) in a person with aphasia, by identifying the disturbed cognitive processes as well as describing aspects of lexical access disorder or defects that It affects the units or connections between the various units that make up this model. Through this article, we will try to answer a major problem related to presenting modern theoretical concepts in cognitive neuropsychology, and to what extent they contributed to the description and interpretation of labial naming disorders in people with aphasia?
