Abstract

COVID-19 (coronavirus disease 2019) is caused by the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) virus, spreading rapidly around the world and causing an emerging pandemic. This article provides information about the probable natural reservoir of the virus and its possible intermediate host. Human-to-human transmission is the main cause of the spread of the virus, which is also transmitted to pets from humans. Research is needed to better understand the transmission mechanism of the virus.
