Reading Goytisol's novel Quarantine makes us immerse ourselves in an amazing space of the invisible world, in an adventure from beyond the grave (or the world of Barzaj, as the author describes it). It is a literary creation in which Islamic intertextuality predominates, especially with regard to Sufism and eschatology, whose elements are omnipresent throughout all the pages. In our work, we do not intend to exhaust the entire list of Islamic elements that make up a work as rich and multifaceted as The Quarantine, however, we try to highlight the most outstanding in an attempt to shed light on the influence and the impact that culture had and the Islamic religion about one of the most outstanding authors of the 20th century.
islamic culture - spanish novel - intertextuality - eschatology - sufism.
