Abstract
Abstract: At the end of the Second World War and in order to secure peace in Europe, the United States, Canada and ten Western European countries signed the North Atlantic Treaty in Washington on April 4, 1949. Over the years, other European countries join the Alliance: like Greece and Turkey in 1952, Spain in 1982, Poland, Hungary and the Czech Republic in 1999, Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, Slovakia, and Slovenia, which, since 29 March 2004, and with this evolution, Nato has adopt a new mission , the treaty establishes a collective defense alliance and a framework for member countries to consult each other whenever one of them feels that their security is in risk, The study aims to outline the factors and circumstances that led to the creation of NATO, also the most important stages in its development, It also attempts to predict its future in the light of current events and developments, We conclude that NATO's future depends on its success or failure in facing the challenges and issues of the current international scene. ملخص: بعد نهاية الحرب العالمية الثانية ومن أجل تأمين السلام الأوروبي وقعت كل من الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية وكندا وعشرة دول من أوروبا الغربية على معاهدة شمال الأطلسي في واشنطن 4 أفريل 1949 ، وعلى مر السنين انضمت دول أوروبية أخرى للحلف على غرار اليونان وتركيا عام 1952،إسبانيا عام 198،بولونيا،المجر وجمهورية التشيك عام 1999. وانضمت كل من بلغاريا،استونيا،لاتيفيا،ليتوانيا،رومانيا،سلوفاكيا،سلوفينيا منذ 29 مارس 2004، ومع هذا التطور تبنى حلف الناتو مهمة جديدة وفقا لهذه المعاهدة ، التي تعتبر تحالفا دفاعيا جماعيا وإطارا لتشاور الدول الأعضاء مع بعضها البعض عند شعور أحد الأعضاء بأن أمنه بات مهددا بأي شكل من الأشكال،فهذا يعتبر تعدي على باقي الدول الحليفة الأخرى ويقتضي عملا دفاعيا مشتركا، وتهدف الدراسة لإبراز العوامل والأسباب المؤدية لإنشاء حلف الناتو ،وكذا أهم محطات تطوره وفي الأخير نحاول استشراف مستقبله في ظل الأحداث والتطورات الراهنة، ونستنتج أن مستقبل حلف الناتو مرهون بنجاح أو فشل تحديات ورهانات هذا الأخير في ظل الأوضاع الدولية الراهنة.
