Prosperity In The World: A Comparison Of Algeria's Performance Using Legatum Indexes

Abstract
Abstract: Despite the progress in absolute terms observed in the three components of the HDI examined separately, the international comparison carried out against countries (with similar performances during the 1980s) revealed Algeria's decline given the progress recorded by Spain, South Korea, Malaysia, and Ireland precisely The hierarchical classification revealed that Algeria's prosperity model was similar to that of former Soviet Union (USSR) countries. Despite being independent for less than 30 years, Algeria remained locked in the HDI's rentier wealth driving force, abandoning new components of prosperity such as personal freedoms, social capital, and the business environment
