تهدف الورقة البحثية الى محاولة تحليل الوضع العالمي في ظل جائحة كورونا وتداعيات هذه الأخيرة على العالم، ولعل أكثر تغيير ملموس عالميا سيتبع نهاية هذه الأزمة، بعيدا عن الآثار الصحية الواضحة هو التغييرات السياسية العالمية، التي سوف تحدث ومنها مثلا فقد الحكومات الرغبة للتغيرات السياسية للعولمة، فإن رد الفعل على كورونا يبرهن على أن العزلة مازالت موجودة، وأن العدد المتزايد للحكومات التي تحاول غلق حدودها وعزل المدن والمناطق الأكثر إصابة، ومنع حرية التحرك للناس، أدى إلى صدمة حقيقية بين العولمة والعزلة. ولعل تعامل معظم الحكومات مع الأزمة بوضع العديد من القيود على السفر الداخلي والخارجي، هو ما يعزز العزلة الموجودة وخاصة بين الحكومات الغربية،مع تراخي التحركات العالمية والاتصالات العالمية بشكل أوسع. حيث سعت معظم الحكومات للعودة للداخل والتركيز على ما يحدث داخل حدودهم بدلا مما يحدث خارجها،لذا من المتوقع حاليا حدوث تحركات نحو الاكتفاء الذاتي وتقليل التوريد ومعارضة الهجرة،وانخفاض الالتزام بحل المشاكل العالمية والإقليمية.
