Abstract: Religion was often thought to play a crucial role in generating conflicts, especially internal ones, and while often a source of conflict, its role in the overall peace process was often important, This paper attempts to examine the importance of religion and religious actors in the process of mediation, where we will consider the general conditions that facilitate mediation in international relations, and assess the amount of this fact in the case of mediation based on religion. By addressing aspects such as legality, logistical and financial support, which have a significant impact on the success or failure of religious mediation, it is important to work better together with other traditional forms of mediation (tribe and clan, for example). Keywords: mediation, conflict, religion, active religious mediation, peace-building
