Auteurs : Boukara Zouhir .

Résumé

Low back pain is one of the most important public health problems in economically developed countries, leading in most cases to a deterioration of the quality of life in everyday life. In older people, the prevalence of low back pain (specific and nonspecific) is estimated at 40%. Beyond the age of 70, specific low back pain is more often present secondary to osteoporosis (1), but it can also follow static disorders with degenerative pathologies and tumoral causes. The quality of life of these patients improves in 2 to 3 months after acute or sub-acute low back pain, but recurrences are not excluded. The evaluation of pain and its functional impact makes use of a specific treatment in relation to geriatrics (2). The purpose of our work is to give the clinical profile of these patients and to investigate the factors that degrade their quality of life, also to take stock of current therapies and to show the role of bio-psycho-social therapy (3 ).
