Résumé
Proverbs exist since ancient times in all cultures, they are as old as society and represent the ideology of citizens, they are very useful and used tools to emphasize the message transmitted in any domain, so it is used for persuasion and argumentation. The purpose of this article is to known what is a proverbs and what is its history and relation with society and then we try to see the linguistic representation of women in the Algerian and Spanish society through the proverbs.
