This study aims at exploring the aspect of 'addition' in grammatical terminology. It has been proved by means of common examples from grammarians and evidence from poetry and the Holy Koran that additive lexemes make a difference. Some of the additive lexemes have an influence and can be influenced in some specific contexts. However, they add nothing to the structure. Some of them do not fulfill a complete grammatical function but they give more strength and emphasis. Hence the additive lexeme is always significant and is not merely a matter of morphological or grammatical terminology. Therefore, its use is not that important for it harms neither Arabic nor the Holy Koran, as evidence of its significance has been provided by Arab grammarians in their thorough investigations.
