الملخص
ساهم الكثير من المثقفين الجزائريين خلال الفترة الاستعمارية، في كتابة تاريخ الجزائر عبر مختلف عصورها التاريخية، و رغم أنه لم تكن لهم دراية بقواعد المنهجية التاريخية، إلا أنهم استطاعوا أن يوصلوا لنا مادة تاريخية ما زال الباحثون و الطلبة يعتمدون عليها حتى يومنا هذا، وكان همهم الأكبر هو مواجهة المدرسة الفرنسية الاستعمارية و الرد عليها، و التي حاولت بكل الوسائل طمس هوية الجزائريين، و اعتبارهم أهالي لا مرجعية لهم، وإفهامهم بأنه لا تاريخ لهم. During the colonial period, several Algerian intellectuals have contributed in writing and documenting the Algerian history through its various historical eras. Even though they were unfamiliar with the rules of historical methodology, they were still able to form and produce historical materials that are still to this day used by researchers and students, while their major concern was to confront the colonial French School that decidedly seeked to obliterate the identity of the Algerians, as it considered these intellectuals to be inexpert with unknowledgeable sources and tried to indoctrinate them to have no history.
