Introduction The traumatic rupture of the diaphragm (TRD) is 0.2 to 4% of the severely traumatized [1-5]. In acute phase, their detection can be difficult given the lack of specificity of their clinical expression. They must be systematically evoked in case of abdominal or thoracic trauma. These lesions are serious and are accompanied by significant morbidity and mortality related mainly to the severity of the associated lesions.Emergency surgical treatment should be considered without delay in the presence of respiratory problems related to pulmonary compression induced by the abdominal organs.
