Abstract Introduction - Cerebral venous thrombosis is a condition that usually affects young woman. It exposes to intracranial hypertension, which in rare cases entails a commitment that compromises the vital prognosis. In these cases, décompressive craniotomy finds its interest. This technique has never been used for this indication at Oran University Hospital. Observation - We report the case of a 24-year-old woman admitted to intensive care unit for malignant cerebral venous thrombosis with subarachnoid haemorrhage and engagement who had undergone decompressive craniotomy.
